Most teams and companies Iโ€™d love to work with are looking for ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜€๐—ถ๐˜๐—ฒ/๐—ต๐˜†๐—ฏ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ฑ employees within Europe. As a result, most of my conversations with recruiters go something like this:

Itโ€™s really sad because I canโ€™t relocate right now, so Iโ€™ll probably have to settle for a compromise.

Youโ€™ve likely noticed that ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—บ๐—ผ๐˜๐—ฒ ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐˜€๐—ถ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜€ ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ ๐—ฏ๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐—ป ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜๐—น๐˜†, especially for People roles, where companies prefer to have their HR folks closer to the team.

๐ŸŸข Businesses claim that onsite/hybrid work Many employees have also ๐—บ๐—ถ๐˜€๐˜€๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—ผ๐—ณ๐—ณ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ณ๐—ฒ, and as People Ops, I completely understand the challenges of remote work ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ด๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—บ๐—ฝ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ฒ, ๐—ณ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ฒ, ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ด๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐˜๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€ (even providers like Deel, which promised to make my life easier, have only opened the door to a new world of hands-on experience with international labor laws ๐Ÿ˜).

๐ŸŒŽ Itโ€™s worth noting that predictive research suggests a promising future for remote work. Studies, including those by Stanford professor Nick Bloom, indicate a potential

There is a significant and positive Itโ€™s important to note that correlation doesnโ€™t imply causation, so this productivity might be due to excellent management or asynchronous solid communication. Besides, the impact of hybrid work on productivity is close to zero.

In other words, the more remote work, the slower the salary growth within a company. Nick explains this by noting that the supply of remote workers in the market exceeds the demand, allowing companies to lower compensation. So, remote workers also tend to be cheaper for companies.
`
The peak level of work-from-home ๐—ผ๐—ฐ๐—ฐ๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐˜€ ๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐—น๐—ฒ ๐—ฎ๐—ด๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐Ÿฏ๐Ÿฌ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿฌ (with toddlers at home), while the level is ๐—น๐—ผ๐˜„๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ผ๐˜€๐—ฒ ๐—ถ๐—ป ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ถ๐—ฟ ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฌ๐˜€ (mentorship, social interaction).

๐ŸŽฏ Debating the advantages of remote vs. onsite work can go on forever. Still, when choosing a work format for employees, companies always make strategic decisions about whether to bet on
