Why go to an interview without even looking for a job?

About a year ago, when I was actively searching for job opportunities in Israel, I encountered several challenges, particularly with recruiters making calls at unpredictable times. I might have been in the middle of shopping, riding the bus, or busy with other tasks 😁

The Israeli job market is distinct, full of nuances that can be initially daunting for newcomers. Just recently, a well-known Israeli company reached out to me with a job opportunity. Even though I’m not actively looking, I always accept such invitations to interview. Here’s why:

🌟 Valuable Experience: Interviews are a great way to understand the local recruitment process, including the initial contact methods used by recruiters, whether it’s phone or email. If you’ve relocated, I highly recommend seizing these opportunities to learn about the market firsthand.

🌟 Company Insights: Even if you aren’t job hunting right now, understanding a company’s culture and maintaining contact with a recruiter can be invaluable when you do decide to enter the job market.

🌟 Assess Your Market Value: It’s a chance to evaluate how your skills and experiences are valued in a new country’s job market.

🌟 Interview Practice: Remember, interviewing is a skill that requires regular practice to stay sharp!

Interestingly, this time the company used Calendly to schedule the call, and they called exactly on time. I appreciate this predictable and respectful approach! 👏
